Most of us will experience back pain at some part in our lives. Pain can come on suddenly or gradually. The spine is made up of 24 vertebrae, discs, ligaments that hold the bones together, tendons that connect the muscles to the vertebrae, the spinal cord, nerves and muscles.  
 
Due to this complex structure, even small amounts of damage to any part of the spine can cause a lot of pain and discomfort. Physiotherapy can help to significantly reduce pain and improve movement by using techniques such as

We have found Pilates based exercises are a great way to reduce pain and improve the condition of the spine. It can be introduced relatively early on in your treatment programme to ease symptoms and if continued can help to strengthen the back, improve the flexibility and posture and help to prevent reoccurance.
